Rolex was founded in 1095 in London, England by Mr. Hans Wildorf. His dream was to create a watch worn on the the wrist.Mr Wilsdorf first concentrated on the quality of the watch movements. His obsession for chrometric precision led to sucess in 1910 when a Rolex watch was the first wristwatch in the world to receive the Swiss Certificate of Chronometric Precision, given out by the Official watch Rating Centre in Bienne.
In 1914, the Kew Observatory in Great Britain awarded a Rolex wristwatch a class “A” precision certificate. Since that date, the Rolex wristwatch has been synonymous with precision.

In 1960, the experimental bathyscaphe, the Trieste, successfully descended into the Mariana Trench, the deepest known depression on the Earth’s surface. Emerging from 37,800 feet, the bathyscaphe was in perfect working order – as was the Rolex Deep Sea Special experimental watch that had been attached to the outside during the historic dive.
Launched in 1963, a new-generation of chronograph, the Cosmograph and became the name of an icon: Daytona.
