About Vacheron Constantin
Vacheron Constantin exemplifies the pinnacle of fine Swiss watchmaking. It lay’s claim to being the earliest watch manufacture still in operation. Founded in 1755 by Jean-Marc Vacheron, the company has built a reputation for making some of the world’s finest timepieces. The manufacturer has the distinction of creating the first watch complication in 1770.
In 1819 the partnership of Jacques Barthelemi Vacheron and Francois Constantin became a reality. Both men shared the same interest to make sophisticated and complicated watches. In 1839 the firm transformed the art of watchmaking with the introduction of the pantograph which allowed the duplication of very fine watch parts consequently moving Vacheron Constantin in to the industrial age.
In 1901 the firm won it’s first Hallmark of Geneva certification. Since that time Vacheron has taken it’s place alongside the elite watchmakers of the world.
